It looks like it will be called The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, and it assures that hundreds of jobs plus a high profile attraction — and it’s basically free.
The “Star Wars” creator George Lucas is financing the project on his own. $1 billion is roughly the amount he plans to spend to construct the museum and to provide a trove of initial artwork. Collectively with Chinese architect Ma Yansong, Lucas has proposed a sleek, futuristic design looks like a combination between the Guggenheim and a galactic starfighter.
Concept and the museum’s bold design make clear that the 72-year-old filmmaker sees it as part of his heritage, and he’s impatient to break ground.
